Marley walks onto the stage in the auditorium. She looks around, and all the stands are empty. Counting Stars begins to play, and Marley sings along.

Marley:
Lately I been, I been losing sleep
Dreaming about the things that we could be
But baby, I been, I been prayin' hard
Said no more counting dollars
We'll be counting stars

Yeah, we'll be counting stars

Kitty and Santana walk onto the stage, singing the song. Marley greets them as they walk over to her.

Kitty (and Santana):
I see this life
Like a swinging vine
Swing my heart (across the line)
In my face is flashing signs
Seek it out and ye shall find

Santana:
Old, but I'm not that old
Young, but I'm not that bold
And I don't think the world is sold

I'm just doing what we're told

Quinn and Puck walk onto the stage, holding hands.

Quinn with Puck:
I feel something so right
By doing the wrong thing
And I feel something so wrong
By doing the right thing

Puck:
I couldn't lie, couldn't lie, couldn't lie

Everything that kills me makes me feel alive

Sam then walks onto the stage, and is greeted by the rest.

Sam and Kitty (Marley):
Lately I been, I been losing sleep (hey!)
Dreaming about the things that we could be
But baby, I been, I been prayin' hard (hey!)
Said no more counting dollars
We'll be counting stars
Lately I been, I been losing sleep (hey!)
Dreaming about the things that we could be
But baby, I been, I been prayin' hard (hey!)
Said no more counting dollars
We'll be, we'll be counting stars

Puck and Quinn:
I feel the love
And I feel it burn
Down this river every turn
Hope is our four letter word
Make that money
Watch it burn

Santana:
Old, but I'm not that old
Young, but I'm not that bold
And I don't think the world is sold
I'm just doing what we're told

Kitty and Marley:
And I feel something so wrong
By doing the right thing
I couldn't lie, couldn't lie, couldn't lie
Everything that drowns me makes me wanna fly

Puck, Quinn, Sam and Santana (Kitty and Marley):
Lately I been, I been losing sleep (hey!)
Dreaming about the things that we could be
But baby, I been, I been prayin' hard
Said no more counting dollars
We'll be counting stars
Lately I been, I been losing sleep (hey!)
Dreaming about the things that we could be
But baby, I been, I been prayin' hard (hey!)
Said no more counting dollars
We'll be, we'll be counting stars

Sam:
Oh, oh, oh.

Puck:
Take that money
Watch it burn
Sink in the river
The lessons I learned

Marley:
Everything that kills me makes me feel alive

Puck, Santana, Kitty, Marley and Sam (Quinn):
Lately I been, I been losing sleep (hey!)

Quinn and Marley:
Take that money
Watch it burn
Sink in the river

The lessons I learned

The six share a group hug as the song comes to a close.

Kitty and Marley sit in Marley's office, talking about what they've been up to.

"So, I heard from Unique what Jake did," Kitty says, looking straight into Marley's eyes.

"Some people never change," Marley replies. "But, there's a teacher here who I've got my eyes on".

"Oh, really?" Kitty asks, grinning.

"Yeah," Marley says, smiling.

"Which one?" Kitty asks.

"The English teacher, William Huston".

In the Choir room, Marley and the alumni stand at the front, while the members take their seats.

"Okay, so, first I would like to thank the alumni for coming!" Marley says, as the New Directions clap.

"Second, I'm going to split you all into little groups with these alumni. Leah and Aidan, I've decided that you two will do a duet at Regionals, so to help you with that, you will go with Quinn and Puck!" Marley says.

Leah and Aidan stand up, and walk to where Quinn and Puck are standing.

"Natalie, Olivia and Rocky, you will go with Santana," Marley says.

The three move over to Santana.

"Sophia, Kai and Kyle, you go with Kitty," Marley says.

The three move to Kitty.

"Monica, Jason and Jessica, go with Sam," Marley says.

The three move to Sam.

"And, that leaves Cody, Amber and Diana with me," Marley says. She looks at the seats, and then says, "But Diana is not here, so it's just Cody and Amber, then!"

Marley sits at her desk, as the door opens. Puck walks over, and takes a seat.

"Listen, Marley," Puck says, taking a deep breathe. "I'm sorry for what Jake did, he's a dick, and I haven't spoken to him since. It was a dick move, and I told him not to do it, but he did".

"It's alright, Puck. I'm over him completely," Marley said, smiling.

"Alright, you two!" Quinn says to Aidan and Leah. "If you're to sing a duet at a competition, you have to act like you're in love. Dance around, look into each others eyes lovingly, it's all part of the show. You have to get the judges and audience to go on the rollercoaster with you. Duets normally open a competition, and show the love between the club. It then leads into group numbers, which gets the audience on their feet, applauding the club for being so together."

"What Quinn means is," Puck says, "Act in love!"

"Whatever, Puckerman," Quinn says, smiling.

"How about a demonstration?" Leah asks.

"Oh, not now!" Quinn says, waving the idea away.

"Oh, come on!" Aidan says. "There's only a few other people here, the rest are in the auditorium!" He looks around to see their group, and Sam's group, consisting of Monica, Jason and Jessica.

"Please?" Leah says, hopefully.

"Come on, Quinnie, how are they supposed to perform at the event if they haven't had a demonstration?" Puck asks.

"Fine," Quinn says.

She walks over to the piano, and whispers in the piano players ear. He starts to play Little Talks on the piano.

Puck:
Hey! Hey! Hey!

Quinn:
I don't like walking around this old and empty house

Puck:
So hold my hand, I'll walk with you, my dear

Quinn:
The stairs creak as you sleep, it's keeping me awake

Puck:
It's the house telling you to close your eyes

Quinn:
And some days I can't even dress myself

Puck:
It's killing me to see you this way

Quinn and Puck:
'Cause though the truth may vary
This ship will carry our bodies safe to shore

Puck:
Hey! Hey! Hey!

Quinn:
There's an old voice in my head that's holding me back

Puck:
Well tell her that I miss our little talks

Quinn:
Soon it will be over and buried with our past

Puck:
We used to play outside when we were young
And full of life and full of love.

Quinn:
Some days I don't know if I am wrong or right

Puck:
Your mind is playing tricks on you, my dear

Puck and Quinn:
'Cause though the truth may vary
This ship will carry our bodies safe to shore

Puck:
Hey!
Don't listen to a word I say
Hey!
The screams all sound the same
Hey!

Puck and Quinn:
Though the truth may vary
This ship will carry our bodies safe to shore

Puck:
Hey!
Hey!

Puck and Quinn:
You're gone, gone, gone away
I watched you disappear
All that's left is the ghost of you.
Now we're torn, torn, torn apart,
There's nothing we can do
Just let me go we'll meet again soon
Now wait, wait, wait for me
Please hang around
I'll see you when I fall asleep

Puck:
Hey!
Don't listen to a word I say
Hey!
The screams all sound the same
Hey!

Puck and Quinn:
Though the truth may vary
This ship will carry our bodies safe to shore

Puck:
Don't listen to a word I say
Hey!
The screams all sound the same
Hey!

Puck and Quinn:
Though the truth may vary
This ship will carry our bodies safe to shore

Though the truth may vary
This ship will carry our bodies safe to shore

Though the truth may vary

This ship will carry our bodies safe to shore

As the song closes, the two share a kiss, while Aidan and Leah clap.

Kitty sits on the edge of the stage, with her group; Sophia, Kai and Kyle.

"Alright, so, I can feel tension here," Kitty says, looking at Sophia and Kai.

"You know what, I'm feeling it too," Kyle says, grinning.

"Not at all," Sophia says, looking away from Kai.

"Nope," Kai says.

"No, I know what this kind of tension is about," Kitty says. "Let me guess... You lost your virginity to him, but he turned out to be a player?"

Sophia stands there, awestruck.

Kai laughs and says, "Player? Come off it!"

"I heard you banged two girls in the same night," Kyle says.

"Once!" Kai says.

"You wonder why you're a player," Kyle says, laughing.

"How'd you guess that," Sophia asks Kitty.

"He has the same attitude as Jake," Kitty replies.

"Jake, as in Marley's ex?" Kai asks.

"Exactly."

"You think I'm like him?" Kai asks, curious.

"Yes," Kitty answers. "You both seem to think that you can get with as many people as you want, and it won't come back to hurt you, but trust me, it will."

There was silence for a few moments, before Kitty continues. "Look at Jake, friendless, hated by Marley, hated by his own brother!"

Kai looks around for a moment and says, "I'm not going to end like that, though".

"You will if you keep playing around," Kitty replies.

In the middle of the stage, Santana's phone begins to ring.

"Hold on, I need to answer this," she says to Natalie, Olivia and Rocky.

"Okay," Rocky says, turning to the other two.

"Hello?" Santana says, as she answers the phone and walks off.

"So, Olivia, are you enjoying this club?" Rocky asks.

"Suprisingly, yes," Olivia replies.

"Surprisingly?" Natalie asks.

"Well, I thought it was going to be extremely boring, singing every song ever made every second inside the Choir Room, but you know, it's actually quite fun. We do cool assignments, and we get alumni who achieved a National win come help us!" Olivia says.

Natalie laughs, as Santana walks back over to them. "Sorry about that, it was my girlfriend back in New York."

"You have a girlfriend?" Natalie asks.

"Yes. I'm a lesbian, and if yo ustart hating on me, I will go all Lima Heights Adjacent!" Santana exclaims.

"Don't worry..." Natalie mumbles.

Marley is on the other side of the stage, trying to teach Amber and Cody some choreography for Regionals.

"Sorry, I'm not too good at this," Amber says, tripping.

"It's alright, I'm not either!" Marley replies. "It was normally Jake or Brittany who did this."

"You just got to keep praciticing," Cody says.

Monica, Jason and Jessica laugh as Sam finishes another one of his impressions.

"Do another one!" begs Monica.

"Come on, now! You won't learn anything," Sam replies.

"Except how to do impressions!" Jason says, getting a high-five from Jessica.

"Please? One more!" Jessica begs.

"Fine!" Sam says.

As the bell rings, the groups disperse, but Natalie hangs back.

"Hey," Santana says, as she sees Natalie is still there.

"Hi..." Natalie says.

"Is there something you want?" Santana curiously asks.

Natalie takes a deep breath before speaking, "So, I'm also a lesbian, but I'm afraid to come out. Some people know, but most don't."

"I won't lie, my coming out was a bit rough, but this is 2017! Nobody cares about this stuff anymore," Santana comforts.

"I told Leah, the girl who's singing the duet, that I liked her, but her boyfriend kidn of found out, and now he hates me, and she's gone back to him. I haven't spoken to her for a while, and I don't know what to do!" Natalie exclaims.

"I find singing a good way to get my stress out," Santana says.

"Really?" Natalie asks.

"Really".

Music to Same Love begins to play, and Santana grabs Natalie's hand, and walks forward.

Santana:
When I was in the third grade I thought that I was gay,
'Cause I could draw, my uncle was, and I kept my room straight.
I told my mom, tears rushing down my face
She's like "Ben you've loved girls since before pre-k, trippin'."
Yeah, I guess she had a point, didn't she?
Bunch of stereotypes all in my head.
I remember doing the math like, "Yeah, I'm good at little league."
A preconceived idea of what it all meant
For those that liked the same sex
Had the characteristics
The right wing conservatives think it's a decision
And you can be cured with some treatment and religion
Man-made rewiring of a predisposition
Playing God, aw nah here we go
America the brave still fears what we don't know
And God loves all his children, is somehow forgotten
But we paraphrase a book written thirty-five-hundred years ago
I don't know

Santana and Natalie:
And I can't change
Even if I tried
Even if I wanted to
And I can't change
Even if I tried
Even if I wanted to
My love
My love
My love
She keeps me warm
She keeps me warm
She keeps me warm
She keeps me warm

Natalie:
If I was gay, I would think hip-hop hates me
Have you read the YouTube comments lately?
"Man, that's gay" gets dropped on the daily
We become so numb to what we're saying
A culture founded from oppression
Yet we don't have acceptance for 'em
Call each other faggots behind the keys of a message board
A word rooted in hate, yet our genre still ignores it
Gay is synonymous with the lesser
It's the same hate that's caused wars from religion
Gender to skin color, the complexion of your pigment
The same fight that led people to walk outs and sit ins
It's human rights for everybody, there is no difference!
Live on and be yourself
When I was at church they taught me something else
If you preach hate at the service those words aren't anointed
That holy water that you soak in has been poisoned
When everyone else is more comfortable remaining voiceless
Rather than fighting for humans that have had their rights stolen
I might not be the same, but that's not important
No freedom 'til we're equal, damn right I support it

(I don't know)

Santana and Natalie:
And I can't change
Even if I tried
Even if I wanted to
My love
My love
My love
She keeps me warm
She keeps me warm
She keeps me warm
She keeps me warm

Santana:
We press play, don't press pause
Progress, march on
With the veil over our eyes
We turn our back on the cause
'Til the day that my uncles can be united by law
When kids are walking 'round the hallway plagued by pain in their heart
A world so hateful some would rather die than be who they are
And a certificate on paper isn't gonna solve it all
But it's a damn good place to start
No law is gonna change us
We have to change us
Whatever God you believe in
We come from the same one
Strip away the fear
Underneath it's all the same love
About time that we raised up... sex

Santana and Natalie:
And I can't change
Even if I tried
Even if I wanted to
And I can't change
Even if I tried
Even if I wanted to
My love
My love
My love
She keeps me warm
She keeps me warm
She keeps me warm
She keeps me warm

Natalie (Santana):
Love is patient
Love is kind
Love is patient
Love is kind
(not crying on Sundays)
Love is patient
(not crying on Sundays)
Love is kind
(I'm not crying on Sundays)
Love is patient
(not crying on Sundays)
Love is kind
(I'm not crying on Sundays)
Love is patient
(not crying on Sundays)
Love is kind
(I'm not crying on Sundays)
Love is patient

Love is kind

Natalie hugs Santana after the song, and Santana pats her back.

Kitty quickly closes the doors in the Choir Room, locking herself and the members in the room.

"What are you doing?" Sophia asks.

"Thanks for coming at short notice. I need a favour from you guys," Kitty says.

"What?" asks Kai. "How to spot a player, because you know that one!"

"Oh shut up, boy!" Kitty exclaims. "Do any of you know William Huston? He's an English teacher here!"

"I do," Monica says.

"Good, what's your name?" Kitty asks.

"Monica".

"Come with me, Monica!" Kitty says.

In the hallways outside, Kitty asks, "Can you take me to his classroom?"

"Sure..." Monica says, confused.

After a short, silent journey, the two arrive at a classroom. "That's him at the desk," Monica says.

"Thank you!" Kitty shouts over the ringing bell. Monica waves as she walks away, and Kitty enters the room.

The club, Marley, and the alumni, minus Kitty, enter the Choir Room.

"Okay, so Quinn, Puck and our dueters, Leah and Aidan, are going to perform for us," Marley says, as she takes her seat.

"We've been practicing Unwritten, so we'll perform that for you," Quinn says.

"Hello?" William says, looking up at Kitty as she enters.

"Hi, I'm Kitty, friend of Marley," she says.

"Okay?"

"Marley really likes you, and if you like her, just tell her! If not, just don't speak to her. She can't have her hopes up," Kitty rushes.

"Lucky that I really do like her, then," William tells Kitty.

"Go tell her!" Kitty says.

"Well, I have to teach right now," William says, pointing to the crowd of students outside the door.

"Tell her after, then!" Kitty shouts. "Just make sure you tell her today".

Quinn takes Leah's hand, and the two sing to the rest of the group.

Quinn:
I am unwritten, can't read my mind, I'm undefined

Leah:
I'm just beginning, the pen's in my hand, ending unplanned

Quinn and Leah:
Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window

Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find

Leah and Puck switch, as Puck sings along with Quinn.

Quinn and Puck:
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it

Release your inhibitions

Leah and Aidan then begin to sing, holding hands as they do so.

Leah and Aidan:
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in

No one else, no one else

The four then sing the chorus, dancing around the Choir Room.

Quinn, Leah, Aidan and Puck:
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten

Aidan and Puck:
Oh, oh, oh

Quinn:
I break tradition, sometimes my tries, are outside the lines

Leah:
We've been conditioned to not make mistakes, but I can't live that way

Quinn and Puck:
Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find

Leah and Aidan:
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in

Quinn, Leah, Puck and Aidan:
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open

Today is where your book begins

The two boys take their respective partners hand, and sings to them, as the girls smile.

Puck and Aidan:
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open

Aidan and Leah:

Quinn:

Quinn and Leah:

Oh, yeah, yeah

The New Directions and it's alumni clap, as Kitty sneaks inside the room, and claps along.

As the bell rings to signal the end of the school day, Marley begins to pack up her bag, and goes to leave. As her hand reaches to open her office door, it opens. She steps back as the door swings open to reveal William.

"Can you come with me, Marley?" he asks.

"Sure..." she says.

He offers his hand, and she takes it.

The two enter the Choir Room, and William takes Marley over to a seat.

"A little birdy told me about your feelings," William says.

"Kitty... I swear that gi-" Marley starts.

William cuts her off, "But, she seemed to know I felt the same about you".

Marley smiles, and says "Really?"

"Definiely. Marley Rose, you are an amazing girl, and this is for you! You can join in if you want to," he says, winking.

The band starts to play Beautiful Soul, and Marley shouts "This is one of my favourites!"

"Sing first then," William says, offering his hand. Marley takes it, and begins to sing.

Marley:
I don't want another pretty face
I don't want just anyone to hold

William:
I don't want my love to go to waste
I want you and your beautiful soul

Marley:
I know that you are something special

William:
To you I'd be always faithful
I want to be what you always needed

Marley:

Then I hope you'll see the heart in me

The two dance lovingly around the Choir Room, holding each other close as they do so.

Marley and William:
I don't want another pretty face
I don't want just anyone to hold
I don't want my love to go to waste
I want you and your beautiful soul
You're the one I wanna chase
You're the one I wanna hold
I won't let another minute go to waste
I want you and your beautiful soul
Your beautiful soul, yeah

Marley:
You might need time to think it over
But I'm just fine moving forward
I'll ease your mind
If you give me the chance

William:
I will never make you cry c`mon let's try

Marley and William:
I don't want another pretty face
I don't want just anyone to hold
I don't want my love to go to waste
I want you and your beautiful soul
You're the one I wanna chase
You're the one I wanna hold
I won't let another minute go to waste
I want you and your beautiful soul

William:
Am I crazy for wanting you?
Maybe do you think you could want me too?
I don't wanna waste your time
Do you see things the way I do?
I just wanna know that you feel it too
There is nothing left to hide

Marley and William:
I don't want another pretty face
I don't want just anyone to hold
I don't want my love to go to waste
I want you and your beautiful soul
You're the one I wanna chase
You're the one I wanna hold
I won't let another minute go to waste
I want you and your soul

I don't want another pretty face
I don't want just anyone to hold
I don't want my love to go to waste
I want you and your beautiful soul

Ooooooo
Beautiful soul, yeah

Oooooo, yeah
Your beautiful soul

Yeah

As the song finishes, William lets go of Marley. "Marley Rose, will you like to go on a date with me?"

Marley nods and smiles, and William leans in and kisses her. Marley is taken aback for a moment, but kisses back.

"So, Sam, what have you been up to?" Quinn asks. The five alumni are sitting in the teachers lounge, having a table to themselves.

"Well, I've been getting a lot of modelling gigs recently, so I've just been pursuing those," Sam replies. "What about you, Kitty?"

"Well, since I moved to Los Angeles, I've been trying to start up a fashion line. I mean I've only been there for ten months. I only graduated last year, so I haven't been up to that much," Kitty says, realising that she hasn't done too much in her life.

Marley enters the teachers lounge at that moment, and walks over to their table.

"How'd it go?" Kitty asks, smiling.

"Did you know about it?" Marley asks, taking a seat.

"Duh! He asked me some of your favourite songs!" Kitty replies, grinning.

"Well, I'm going on a date with him..." Marley says.

"Oh I feel sorry for whoever you're talking about!" Lauren shouts, from two tables away.

"Who the hell do you think you are?" Kitty replies, getting angry.

"That's the woman that Jake slept with," Marley says, with disgust.

"My brother slept with that scum?" Puck says, loudly, so that Lauren could hear him.

"Who do you think you are?" Lauren shouts at Puck.

"Look at you, copying what I said," Kitty replies.

"So basic!" Santana cackles.

"I'm Noah Puckerman, Jake Puckerman's brother, actually," Puck says, smiling.

"Oh... How is Jake? He isn't replying to my calls..." Lauren mumbles.

"No wonder!" Puck says, laughing.

"Let's go, everyone!" Quinn says. The six stand up, and laugh as they walk out.

"Thank you for that," Marley says.

"No problem," Puck says, hugging Marley.

In the Choir Room, Marley stands up at the front.

"So, your mentors have told me you've all been excellent, and they know you're going to slay this competition!" Marley shouts, to the applause of the club. "However, they all have duties they have to go to, so they won't be able to stay for the event-"

"I can stay," Kitty says. "I literally have nothing to do in LA, anyway!"

Marley smiles, before saying "So, let's show these alumni how great this generation of New Directions is!"

The scene changes to the auditorium, and Ready Aim Fire begins to play.

Kai:
Whoa
With our backs to the wall, the darkness will fall
We never quite thought we could lose it all
Ready, aim, fire, ready, aim, fire
An empire's fall in just one day
You close your eyes and the glory fades
Ready, aim, fire, ready, aim, fire away (fire!)
Ready, aim, fire, ready, aim, fire away

Kyle:
Off in the distance, there is resistance
Bubbling up and festering

Sophia:
Hey Mr Motion, make me a potion
Shake it all up with your mystery

Rocky and Monica:
How come I've never seen your face 'round here?
I know every single face 'round here
A man on a mission, changing the vision
I was never welcome here

Sophia:
We don't have a choice to stay
We'd rather die than do it your way

Kai with New Directions:
With our backs to the wall, the darkness will fall
We never quite thought we could lose it all
Ready, aim, fire, ready, aim, fire
An empire's fall in just one day
You close your eyes and the glory fades
Ready, aim, fire, ready, aim, fire away (fire!)
Ready, aim, fire, ready, aim, fire away

Monica:
Back in the casing, shaking and pacing
This is the tunnel's light

Sophia:
Blood in the writing, stuck in the fighting
Look through the rifle's sight

Kyle:
How come I've never seen your face 'round here?
I know every single face 'round here

Rocky:
Here in the heckle, holding the shackle
I was never welcome here

Kyle and Rocky:
We don't have a choice to stay
We'd rather die than do it your way

Kai with New Directions:
With our backs to the wall, the darkness will fall
We never quite thought we could lose it all
Ready, aim, fire, ready, aim, fire
An empire's fall in just one day
You close your eyes and the glory fades
Ready, aim, fire, ready, aim, fire away (fire!)
Ready, aim, fire, ready, aim, fire away

Whoa

With our backs to the wall, the darkness will fall
We never quite thought we could lose it all
Ready, aim, fire, ready, aim, fire
An empire's fall in just one day
You close your eyes and the glory fades
Ready, aim, fire, ready, aim, fire away (fire!)

Ready, aim, fire, ready, aim, fire away

The alumni applaud the members as the bow, and Marley shouts, "Let's own Regionals!"

THE END
